Batch 5 of the monsters done, I am working on the final 6, well 4 are done now so I am working on the final 2. That will make 40 in total, a bit short of the 100 that I would have liked to send, there are 100 children in the orphanage, but it was impossible given the time I had...maybe next time lol did I really just say that, can't believe I would ever want to look at a sock ever again hahaha

Still doing diy, I have been waxing woodwork and putting up lining paper, and in the few moments inbetween I have been making a little photo album /booklet for a friend.

Once a month I go to an art group run by my friend Ms.Efemera ,this month she showed us her interpretation of a bird,I think it is based on one that was in somserset studio magazine. The bird is cut out of calico and then painted and decorated. I used promarkers to decorate mine. The birds are then wired onto bits of driftwood. I think I shall call mine Bob and hang him in a window somewhere.

The diy-ing has been non existent for a few days, I haven't felt great, the weather is so muggy and I seem to have a constant headache. But today I made myself make a card, I drew some Gaillardia and coloured them with promarkers, cut them out and mounted them onto a card.

I have 7 more sock monsters almost ready, they just need eyes and mouths. I am aiming to get 40 in total finished by next week when the convoy sets off.

Hoping to get the lining paper on the walls sometime next week and then the flooring can go down. Today my son moved into his new flat, ready to start his masters degree in a few weeks.

I finished P for poppy girl last night, well in the early hours of this morning actually. I was still colouring in when I heard the milkman come. I am not happy with the hair, it needs to be more purple, but promarkers don't seem to have the shade I am after, I might need to look at copics.

Pens used;

Promarkers-blush,satin,coral,berry red,ruby,orange,soft lime,sandstone,pastel green,cool grey 1,2,3,4,lavendar,lilac,aubergine

Copics-skin white,dull ivory

I think I may do some wings to go behind her at some point.

All cut out, ready to be stuck into my A-Z journal.

Not much to report tonight, I am so busy with the DIY in the house. I did find a few moments to play with newspaper though. I glued 6 sheets together, then tore the edges away so they are rough,then creased them down the middle and then left them to dry. Once dry I painted them white, both sides.

I have made 7 of these folding pages.
I ran out of PVA during the sticking process so pinched some of the DIY glue, and then didn't have much gesso left so used leftover emulsion lol

So here they are standing up drying, in the background you can see my newly plastered wall, done by yours truly.

Today I have mostly, sanded, plastered,stripped wallpaper,stripped paint, sawed wood, hammered nails and swept up LOTS...aswell as painting newspaper!

These 7 pages are for my A4 sized A-Z book, I have yet to decide on how to join them/bind them, which is why I have left them as double pages for now. I think I may layer them all up and stitch through the spines.

Any links to book binding sites very welcome.
