Postcards

I recently made these for my friend Dede. She has fabulous weekly shows on ustream, you can follow her show HERE...

I started by cutting 6 postcard sized pieces, and brushed on a little craft paint.

I then added some stamping and stencilling..

next I knocked back the colour with white acrylic, then added more stencilling.

I took some plastic dividers from an expanding file that had fallen apart, drew some faces onto it and cut them out...or rather burned them out using the tip of a soldering iron. If you use this method remember to do it over a glass cutting board and not a regular mat.

I taped my plastic stencil over the postcard and added black and red paint.

Next I added washi tape and wall filler which was pushed through stencils to add texture. 

Once the wall filler was dry I painted it, then I dripped on some pearlescent acrylic ink....and finally added some text..

I added a stamped image of a postcard to the reverse of each one, finishing it with some splatters of ink and some faux coffee stains achieved by dipping a lid into brown ink.
