Guest Blogging for PaperArtsy (May Project 3)

Hello again, here we are day 3, project 3.

I hope you loved the TG storage from yesterday, it is sat on my desk and makes me smile every time I look at it.

Today I have a super cool project, it is a Victorian Adventure Bag.

Now I made my bag from scratch, but you could very easily buy a plain cotton or calico bag and work on that. Just make sure to slip some thick cardboard inside the bag to prevent any ink or paint seeping through to the back. So you can take on the challenge of sewing the bag or just do the painting bit.

You don't even have to make a bag, just have a go at painting on fabric....maybe paint a panel to frame, or a tiny panel to put on a greetings card...there are lots of ways you could take inspiration from this project.

Here it is. To make the paint stay on the bag I mixed a little fabric medium with PAPERARTSY FRESCO PAINTS

and here is a close up of the hanging embellishment that I made to hang from the handle.

I love this bag so much, and can't wait to use it over the summer. Please hop on over to  the PAPERARTSY BLOG... and see all the photos and instructions on how I made this bag. If you make something using this as inspiration then link up at the PaperArtsy blog and you could win a prize.

See you tomorrow for part one of project number 4.

  3. Wow Darcy this is gorgeous! Can I ask where you get the fabric medium from please? By the way, Stewart Gill make lovely metallic fabric paints which can be heat set and washed. You make me want to get my paint brushes out right now!

  4. Lynn, I used fabric medium called Ormoline whch i bought from Art Van Go, years ago. I used that one simply because that is what I had. I believe that Liquitex make one aswell, googling for that should bring it up easily. Also Decoart have one which you should be able to find in Hobbycraft with their craft paints.
