so back to bags...are you sick of them yet lol I seem to be on a mad bag making run at the moment.

Once a month we have an art group locally, affectionately known as 'glue and stick' ....generally we glue and stick stuff...doh!..no ..really we do!

But this month we got all fabricky. our esteemed leader Effie tries out a project and then we all have a go, and this month she came in with a decorated calico bag.

This is how is started...actually this isn't how it started, this is the back of my finished bag, proudly modelled by my giraffe,Trafford...but the front did start out this way too.

We used a mask, made by cutting a birdcage on the cricut. then we coloured areas with transfer paints.

Add bits of fabric, beads, ribbons, lace, buttons,a little crown and some embroidery and this is what you end up with.

Close up...

here are the rest of the bags just as the day ended, most of them were 3/4 done. I finished mine off at home. Not bad eh? for a bunch of bags that only cost £1 each. All the same, sort of, but all different too. I love how we all put our own touches into the design.

So there you go, get yourself a cheapy bag and pretty it up....

Thanks for looking, have a great day. I am off out for a couple of hours to escape the nightmare of world cup fever.

  2. Now altering a bag even I might be able to do - making them from scratch like you - I doubt it!

  3. Oh, the calico bag is cool - I've got Connor's bookstart one, might have to dig it out to see if the picture on it is small enough to be covered! And there are some very yummy cakes in the Eat Me book, I recommend the French Toast and Lemon Meringue cupcakes, my next try is the Black Forest Gateaux cupcakes... x
