Weekly Face on Weds

So busy at the moment, but managed to do this face. i was sad to hear of the death of this person in the past week, and wanted to do a small tribute.

Initial outline, not only do I outline the face and features I also lightly outline the ares of the darkest shadows.

As usual I start with the eyes.

Adding in more of the darkest shadows.

I then started adding the wrinkles, something new for me, and I am not sure how well I did them.

The nose is in, and some of the medium shading.

Adding in the dark clothing.

Blending all the shadows out with a paper stump.

All done.

  14. Well done Darcy, I think you've captured his likeness well.
Wrinkles are difficult too, the trick is to draw them as negatives, or should I say draw the highlights and shadows they produce.
    Good work.
