Scrawlrbox

I recently entered a competition on Twitter to win a box of art supplies from Scrawlr, if you have never heard of them please do visit their site HERE.  All I had to do was retweet one of their tweets and i was ridiculously happy to have won. the box came within a couple of days and here is a video of me unboxing the supplies.

Each month Scrawlr also issue a challenge using the supplies that they send out. At the end of the unboxing video you will see my drawing.

I finished P for poppy girl last night, well in the early hours of this morning actually. I was still colouring in when I heard the milkman come. I am not happy with the hair, it needs to be more purple, but promarkers don't seem to have the shade I am after, I might need to look at copics.

Pens used;

Promarkers-blush,satin,coral,berry red,ruby,orange,soft lime,sandstone,pastel green,cool grey 1,2,3,4,lavendar,lilac,aubergine

Copics-skin white,dull ivory

I think I may do some wings to go behind her at some point.

All cut out, ready to be stuck into my A-Z journal.

Since I started the art journal in previous entries I have got my mojo back. I have been doing some drawing and colouring in with promarkers. The picture i have done is roughly A4 size, and I fancy making an A-Z art journal, in A4 size. I will paint each page then do a drawing to correspond to the letter, stick it in and then maybe doodle or stick stuff over the top.

I haven't given up on the first art journal, but have been 'sparked' in a slightly different direction, so i will keep them both on the go.

Here is my first drawing for my new journal.

Clearly its not finished yet, and if you look closely you will see I have coloured outside the lines.....I will be cutting the different elements out and sticking them to a different background, so there is no need to be careful about going over the lines.

When it is totally finished I will post another pic with a list of promarkers used.

next step is to make a book to stick it in...

New sock monster, yet to be named, I think he's a bit cute and would love to keep him lol

Socks for Ian, for Easter. I can't tell you about the pattern as I have completely forgotten how I did them, and clearly wasn't organised enough to write the destructions down...shame as I quite like the pattern and want some for myself. I may sit and work out what I did at some point, but probbaly not, life is too short. Oh and note to self, do not wrap Cadburys creme eggs up inside socks. Ian opened them while still in bed, opening the sock up above his head, at which point the eggs fell out and almost concussed him.

New birthday card, hand drawn outlined with letraset fineliner and coloured with promarkers. not happy with the arms and legs, must try harder lol

I need to make a non religious christening/naming card......any ideas?

Howdydoodee!

Had a great weekend, saw lots of family. Pics on facebook.

Instead of a card for my Mum, I made her an exploding box filled with butterflies.it measures 6cmx6cmx12cm, the lid comes off and the butterflies are floating inside. I found this site, the lady here makes some lovely boxes, so i thought i would give it a go.

I also made her 3 gift tags for her pressies.

A couple of months ago I made this flip photo album for a special little friend of mine, i filled it with photos of him and his friends.

last week I decorated this little wooden box, turning it into a mini shrine...not to anything in particular, I don't worship birdhouses lol

Did some more hand drawn greetings cards.

What's been happening ? well not a great deal really. We have had a few nice days and have been out for walks, taking lots of photos. We also had Mother's Day here in the UK, we went to Whitby for the day, to one of my fave restaurants, was a lovely day spent with my boy.

I made 3 sock monsters to go out to 3 little girls in Uganda, my dance teacher sponsors them, and they will go out in the next box of goodies she sends out to them.

I also made a set of 12 greetings cards for servicemen/women. This fabby girl used to be in the RAF, and she is collecting a ton of greeting cards that she will send out to soldiers serving abroad. they have no access to cards or stationery with which to write home to their families. So if you make cards and want to help, get in touch with her.

ummm what else? I got a new dress and new shoes. These are for my mum's 70th birthday party next weekend.

I made some socks for Ian for Easter, though a photo will have to wait.

Ian's niece had a baby boy the other day, welcome to the world baby Owen. Here is the card I made for him.

A couple of years ago my son bought me a wooden sign of my name, it was plain blue, so I have decorated it.

Last night I made another sock monster for the daughter of a friend.

I went shopping up at the farm shop and got molested by cows.

oh and I am officially addicted to promarkers.

New pirate socks for me, just finished. It was a free pattern online, which I would link to but the author has taken down the link, thank godness I printed out a copy before she did that, as I started them last year, and only just got around to finishing them. I would have been well annoyed if I was stuck with only one sock LOL though in theory I could have worked out the pattern from the first finished one...but it would have been very tiresome lol

Not much else happening, I have beeen drawing lots of Manga lately, really need to practise my drawing skills, they were never brilliant, and I haven't drawn for years. Since i bought Ian some art supplies for Christmas, he has been sketchig and painting too, with Acrylics...we are a couple of saddos LOL sitting in each night drawing hahaha
