Wednesday 9 February 2011

Hello Wednesday, it's been such a long time since I have played along, almost 6 months in fact since Ian broke both his feet. He is on the mend now and should be back at work by the end of the month...fingers crossed.

So here is my desk, it is pretty tidy...a rarity for me, but then you can't see the floor lol All the usual stuff on there, plus my Art Portfolio that I have just made. It is on there as it is quite big and I haven't found a permanent place to keep it yet.

If you would like to see how I made it, I posted all the instructions with lots of photos in four blog posts.

I have also started a weekly word prompt, all the words so far are IN HERE. Each Monday I post the new word prompt and questions to think about and on the Friday I post my finished page. I would love it if you join in...if you do please let me know so I can add your name to the side bar.

last week I drew this little robin, he turned out a bit angry looking. I didn't mean him to lol

I first applied a wash of watered down acrylics..

and then added all the shading and details with Derwent coloursoft pencils.

Do any of sketch, draw or paint?????? then you might be interested in joining a new blog that I set up. It is a monthly prompt blog for drawing, you don't have to be good at it, the whole point is that by doing the prompts it makes you practise and you get better.

Here is The blog , please take a look at the first prompt/challenge. If you join in we also have a Flickr group... HERE.... where you can upload your challenge pictures.

Hopefully I will get to visit lots of blogs today, but I also have to make cakes as it is Ian's birthday today and it is my birthday tomorrow.

Have a great day.x

  8. Hi Darcy
lovely to see you again, glad to hear Ian is all mended, gorgeous bird, beautiful colour work, have good day, happy WOYWW, sue,x(11)

  9. ohoo the fist thing I thought of when you said about poor Ian was the Time Traveller's Wife..although it was worse in the book than the film, but then!! Lovely book to look at and my mind was back on track, Happy WOYWW!

  10. Great little robin - my favourite bird. Good to see you back with the WOYWWers!

  11. Lovely bird, I so wish I could draw!

  12. Whoa Darcy - how busy?!! Lovely idea with the prompts and the really are a multi personage aren't you. Am alarmed by your desk, but I guess your other stuff prevents it all being done at once!

  13. He is so very sweet, your robin - and looks less angry coloured in! (Though I liked the angry version too.) I haven't managed a WOYW for a while either, so you are not alone.

  14. I think your robin just looks determined! I'm off to check out your other blog as getting back into drawing was on my "list" to do this year! Star 102

  15. Very neat desk. Love the robin! I wish that spring would come quick!

  16. Love your neat desk and you robin is great angry and coloured - I am not a drawer at all but love to see work of others that can ~ Nicky 9

  17. That is a fantastic project, something be be treasures in the future. I used to draw many years ago, but my teachers were not impressed and I lost confidence and gave up. I think it is time to have another go in private and just see what I could do, but yours is certainly so good. Robins can get very cross and feisty, and will kill others in their territory, so yours looking angry fits their character perfectly.

  18. Nice to see you back again Darcy! Love the art album, I looked at the earlier posts, and I love your drawing, can't draw for toffee personally. Happy birthday too, I took a cupcake!!

Thanks for the peek and sharing, hugs,Lucky #2 Marjo
