Forever Memories

This year I wanted to create memory jars for 2 special people in my family, with the view to turning them into memory books for future generations on my family. 

I started by digging out lots of painted backgrounds, scrapbook papers and digi backgrounds. I then printed out 125 questions and cut them all into strips. Each was rolled or folded, and some were tied with bakers twine. 

Don't they look pretty..

I filled 2 large coffee jars with the mini scrolls

Now to decorate the jars using digi background papers and ribbons and twine. The lids have a paperclay embellshment on top. I didn't make them Christmassy looking, as these will be used through the year. 

To go with the jars I bought 2 really nice journals with lined pages. 

and a scroll of instructions and a glue stick for sticking the questions into the journals.. 

All done, hope they have fun reminiscing and answering the questions.

Digis for You

Do you remember these cards I made a while back?

I decided to give you the original outlines, so you can print them out and colour them in. Sadly i could not find the original drawings anywhere, and I searched and searched and searched.. and then gave up and drew them out again. So if you would like them then you can download them for free

I found this little card that I haven't shown you yet. While pottering about on FB my good friend KIRSTY posted about a little free digi image that she had just made. It was so cute I just had to colour him up using my FLEXMARKERS... click that link to find the markers still half price for the rest of  Jaunary.

I started with white card that I ran through a cuttlebug embossing folder, then I edged it with a blue marker. Next I printed the dog several times onto acetate,then I printed the dog bigger on smooth white card and coloured him in. As Kirsty provided a coloured and non-coloured version I finally printed the coloured version onto smooth card and made that into a tag.

Then I started to layer, but I needed a sentiment. I tried several on the top but they all looked bulky. I knew that I couldn't stamp on the bottom layer as it was all bumpy from the embossing folder. So I got out my TRUSTY SAFMAT This is fabulous stuff that pops right in the printer, you then print out whatever you want onto it , peel off the backing and stick it to your project. Because it is a clear film it kind of disappears once you stick it down, just leaving the text or image that you have printed.

So I printed out the word Bonjour! trimmed the film close to the text and stuck it to my bottom white layer, then added the acetate layer, holding that in place with brads and then finally I cut around my coloured dog and glued him on along with the tag.

to keep everything matching I also coloured the brads and the ribbons with my Flexmarkers.

This is Petit Bug, isn't she super cute in her lil beret?





and this is the 6x6 card that i made with her. I used promarkers to colour some satin fabric for the background, and see those lil flowers...they were plain white punched flowers coloured with promarkers and folded and layered as per a video tutorial on Kirsty's blog.





This is Lila Bug, she has wings which if you want to are easy to snip off, but I decided to keep them. Again she is coloured using promarkers.





and this is the 6x6 card i made. So many people are making journal pages at the moment, so I thought i would make a card in the style of a journal page. the rainbow is tissue paper coloured with promarkers and applied to a background of watercolours and stamping. Then I cut out some stars, coloured them with the promarkers and added stickles.
