Extra pages

I am still filling my DLP journal. When I created it, I added lots of extra pages, flaps, and envelopes. I have to say that I quickly lost interest in filling the whole book, and so some of those extra bits have been taken out. But i do have some extra pages that are nothing to do with DLP prompts.

Here are a few of them. Not all are finished. I keep adding bits and pieces to them.

Almost Caught Up

Here are 5 more DLP pages, at this time I am now only 7 behind.. not bad considering I was about 23 behind lol

Wk 29. Create a wish list from images.

Wk 32. Add a fortune cookie..

Wk 33. Use underpaper.. I collaged the whole double page with ripped up underpaper, and it reminded me of a Rosina Wachtmeister background. So I drew some of her puppets and collaged them over the top.

Wk. 44. Add leaves..

Wk. 45. Add a tab.. think about this one, perhaps look at it in the mirror.

Bit more DLP

Another 3 quick catch up pages, basically just adding colour and texture to pages really..

week. 28. Add a Tiny Photo.

week. 34. Numbers that relate to your week.

week 37. Use a white pen.

I am enjoying these more now that I am not worried about making them great or perfect pages. I just want to fill the book, and it is quite cathartic just slapping paint down and 'smashing' in images and ephemera.

More DLP Catching up..

I have done a few more pages.. only 14 behind now.. lol

wk 23. What are you grateful for this week.

Lots of paint scraping, stencilling and stamping. The flowers and arrows are stamped onto painted deli paper.

wk 35. Add a face.

A painted background with added drips. The face is a version of a Thangka drawing, they are very complicated and highly geometric. it is my ambition to one day do a workshop in how to do these properly.

wk 36. Use black and white

As the title implies it is black and white, the sections are drawing of dominoes.

wk 41. use polka dots

What else but washi tape...

wk 42. Add stars.

Lots of stamped stars, the very small ones and the text are both from my own range of stamps EDY08

These pages are rapidly turning into quick doodled pages rather than full on art pages, but that is ok. It is still filling up the book with fun pages.

DLP Week 22

Draw, paint or sketch a house... Well I couldn't not use my own house stamps right? after all I did draw them in the first place.

I covered my journal page with some book page, then tinted it with brown and blue ink pads. I then added a little Nougat paint, and then stamped all over with my cog background stamp.

Love this background stamp..

Next I put some of this silver tape through an embossing folder to get this ruler effect.

I then brushed on a little French Roast paint, just to dirty them up a little.

I then took some more book pages, brushed them lightly with Nougat, and stamped my 2 larger houses.

onto some scrap paper that had bits of leftover paint on it, I stamped parts of the houses again and cut these bits out.

I then glued the coloured bits to the houses that were stamped on Nougat/book pages.

I glued the houses into the journal.. along with a couple of strips of the embossed foil.

Lastly i printed out this quote, one of my faves, and glued it into place.

DLP Week 21

Add some embroidery to your page..

I started with this page, I had already spritzed it with inks, so I just carried on and built up the layers with stamping. I used more of my homemade stamps. I am quite liking using them now, shame they have been sat in a drawer for so long lol

Then to add some embroidery... in front of where I work is a large pin board, with all sorts hanging on it. One of the random things was a sample tassel, made over 10yrs ago. It had these machine embroidered shapes on it. I took it down and stripped them off the tassel body.

They are piece of pelmet vilene, dyed and then embroidered and bits of fabric and ribbons attached.

I tore out some scraps of painted paper, and mounted the vilene pieces onto the paper.

I added some grunge paste tot he background and coloured this with Treasure Gold. I then glued in the embroidered patches, and finally stamped around them using white paint.

Some close ups of the embroidery  and the texture of the grunge paste..

DLP Week 20

Use a stamp in an unusual way.

I started by adding dressmaking paper to the page.

I added a little paint and some stamping.

More stamping and some white to knock it back.

I then added some haberdashery stamps, once stamped I quickly rubbed over them to blend them into the background.

I added some painty lines using an old credit card along the top and bottom edges, once dry I added the black and white dots.

I then added the dress form, inked in black and then clear embossing powder added.

I made some paper pulp and used it to create some paper casts of stamps. Once dry I painted it and highlighted it with Treasure gold, then glued it over the dress form.

See how I make my papercasts HERE...

Finally I printed this quote onto tissue paper and glued it down. This is a great way to add text that is too fiddly to cut out, as once glued the tissue paper almost disappears.

You can just to say see the white of the tissue, this is easily blended in by adding a little paint just with a fingertip.

DLP Week 18

Add a quote..

This is one of my all time favourite quotes.

I chose to do an 'almost' double spread. the left side is a full page, the right side is a postcard from a yarn shop. This is the reverse of the card, and i have added this small printed picture.

I then drew a frame on both halves and wrote out my quote.

Now, how to colour them in? i decided to use my Twinkling H2O's, mainly because i haven't used them in ages.. and well, they are twinkly!

Once the colouring in was done I outlined everything and added white details.

I just love how these paints shimmer

Here is the finished page and card..
