A good while ago my lovely friend Sue posted this link on F/B..click here ..l liked the look of this simple little calendar. I have always been rubbish at keeping a diary, although I can talk for England, I never have enough to write in a daily diary.....so just writing one line each day really appealed to me.
I decided to have a go.
Firstly I downloaded this ledger paper and printed it out onto white card, both sides. Sounds like a lot of printing , it was..but I had an old printer that i wanted rid of, but it still had loads of ink in it that needed using up....so I did lol you could just buy index cards.
So I printed and trimmed... I also ran a burgundy promarker around all the edges.
I stamped dates on all the cards.
and on the front card for each month I added a tab for the name of the month.
Sheesh...how many cards....it took me ages...
I bought 12 postcards from a local shop to use as dividers, they all have vintage scenes from my area,
and here is how it works. Write the year on the left and use one, or two if you have to,line to make a quick note of that day.
At the moment they are stood in a boring little box which needs decorating...when I get around to it...

That is so cool!!!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting way to keep a journal :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the box after you've added your art.
Will also pop back to see what it looks like when you have used a couple - i do love calendars :)
ReplyDeleteI love this idea I have been keeping mine since Feb this year and can't wait to get to the same time next year so there is something to look back on and remember each day when I write.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea Darcy... X x
ReplyDeleteI started mine last February too, and haven't yet missed a day. Very unusual for me to stick to anything :) mine is much plainer than yours tho. Just plain index cards, no prettying up, no dividers.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using postcards of local places - great idea Darcy. *Ü* You are so creative. TFS. ~Glen~
ReplyDeletelove it - it will be an amazing way of looking back, and so space efficient too.
ReplyDeleteI bought the cards and box to do this year but just after I got it a bad thing happened in my family and I didn't want to start it with that so I can't wait to get it going in the new year. I love the idea of vintage cards from your area, Brilliant.
