While I love to make complicated projects, building things from scratch and adding lots of layers... there are times I want to get back to basics. to curl up and relax and just do a bit of colouring in. So for my Letraset post this month that is exactly what i did... and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Here are my images, stamped in Memento black ink and using images from EDY05. I find Memento the best ink pad to use when colouring with markers.
Then I coloured in my images using Pink Carnation.Cerise,Magenta,Duck Egg,Soft Green,Turquoise,Green,Forest Green,Gold, Oatmeal
I cut them out... note the very subtle shading. I add the darker colour and then quickly blend that with the lighter colour. The prickly reed head will lose some of the seeds when you cut it out, this is ok and they will reappear.
Now to create a background I took a microfibre cloth and dipped it in a little rubbing alcohol. I then dipped the wet cloth into Letraset alcohol ink, Cobalt Blue. I dabbed the cloth all over the top part of a piece of smooth card. This gives a great texture.
Do the same with Letraset Alcohol ink, Moss.
Now add some background stamping using the grasses and flower stem from EDY05
Here are the seed heads, stamped directly onto the background.
Now glue on the flowers that were cut out.
I added the circle/heart flower on a foam pad.
I matted the flamingo onto black card, this helps it to really pop.
Next I coloured some more card with the same dabbing technique, then I stamped the text. When I have the space I like to let small areas overhang the central panel, as long as they don't go over the base card...otherwise you then need to think about envelope sizes..
The finished card, bright and fun.
I have a pack of mid tones promarkers to give away.
