Here is another sample from my new stamp collection. This is a tag on a card. I used a number 8 tag and a piece of Chatsworth paper as my substrates.
Onto the Chatsworth I brayered Beach Hut, Inky Pool, Orchid and Spanish Mulberry. Onto the tag I brayered Pumpkin Soup, Guacamole and Tinned Peas. Over the blue/pink paint I stamped the leaf from EDY13 and also the text from that plate.
Next I used a brown Archival ink to stamp the border from EDY13, quite lightly, I wanted this to fade away into the background and not be prominent. Inbetween the borders i stamped the starry background stamps to fill in the gaps, again I stamped very lightly. I edged the tag with a little brown ink.
On a small piece of Chatsworth I painted some Pumpkin Soup and some Autumn Fire, then stamped the dotty flowers from EDY13.
I added a litle more Autumn fire to parts of the flower heads and then decided that I wanted parts to be blue, but that is a translucent.. so first I added some Snowflake. Once dry I was able to add the Beach Hut.
I cut out all the blue leaves and layered them up then added the dotty flower heads, this made a really nice flower. I stamped the stems from the dotty flower onto Chatsworth. I wanted the flower heads to be spaced further apart, so I bent the stems over before stamping, so there were much bigger gaps between them.
Now all I had to do was attache the heads to the stems and add them to the tag. To add a little shimmer I painted over the blue spots with Metallic Glaze.
I really love these flowers, they are quite large so you really do need to bend those stems over. I only glued down the main area of each petal, leaving the points free, I then very gently curled them up.
Finally I added the text.
To add stability, and to make this into a greeting card I attached the tag to a tall card blank. I really like how the flower petals hang outside the card edges.
I liked it so much I made another one, in a slightly lighter colour, the flowers in this one are more purple.
I can see me making this designs lots, so simple but effective. Hope you liked it. All my stamps are available now from your favourite PaperArtsy retailer.
I will be back soon with another sample. I am off now to eat cake for breakfast as it is my birthday.
