Bag Update...14 bags finished and another 6 half done.
Since last week I have made another mini, the last one was blue, brown and green for a male friend's 40th, and this one is in pinks for a female friends 30th.
Again following instructions from Laura's page I love it when people design great stuff for me to have a go at.
I have loved making these two, and was able to pack a lot of photos into them, this one has *I think * 26 photos in it..can't check as it has been mailed out to her.
Each tag has a photo, and a title or a journal sticker. also a few of the pages have blank journalling areas for her to fill in.
Tomato watch...see how tall my babies have grown.
Just lookie!!! I am so impressed lol
Desk watch...machine set up, pile of bag straps and linings and a small pile of fat quarters which are to make a bag for myself at an upcoming sewing day with friends. hmmm now how did that can of cider get in there lol
Must get on with bags now, and also need to start a wedding album.
Speaking of which where can I get 2 silver coloured metal rings from, wedding ring stylee and NOT joined together....actually I could do with about 8, if I can get them cheap enough. If you know anywhere that sells them please let me know.
have a great week. x
Love the mini book - will add it to my list of things to try...the tomatoes are doing well, I'm attempting to grow some that are for hanging baskets, amazingly I have some tomatoes appearing even though I didn't do anything I was supposed to with them! Have a nice Wednesday! x
ReplyDeleteLove that mini book. And your tomatoes are doing nicely, too. Congrats on being about 2/3 done on bag duty. Sounds like you nearly have it whipped. Wedding album. Switching gears could be a lot of fun. Happy WOYWW.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog - and can relate to the HTML blindness - but it looks fab so well done, don't the 'easy' tools get inthe way sometimes? the tab album is quality, and the tom's wouldn't have got any further with us - green chutney! - the rings? try the flea markets - sometimes you can pickup real rings for a few quid.....
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful is this tab album think I may have to try it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mini book!! xx
ReplyDeletegreat project! and the tomatoes are amazing!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff here today, hope your tomatoes ripen quickly!

Oh I like the new look of your blog, so colourful. The bags are smashing, it must have taken you ages to do them all, congratulations. I am a bag addict and just love having different ones. A friend showed me how to use my sewing machine and my intention is to make a bag of my own....one day. I love your photo album and I must see how you have made it *NOTE TO MYSELF TO CHECK OUT* Thank you for all the recipes of your baking, I have tried a couple and they are scrummy.

ReplyDeleteYou sound very busy Darcy! Your tomatoes & blog look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSorry Darcy-don't do html except for links-my life too short and weary. Love the stuff especially tomatoes as remind me of my lovely Dad. We used to rush to the greenhouse at lunchtime (he picked me up on his moped from school for lunch-sorry dinner) and take out side shoots, open windows, pollinate with rabbit's foot etc-and that special "greenhouse full of tomatoes" smell. Hugs BettyXXX

Wait a minute. I Love shoes and Art too! We are now friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that tomato growing bag? When I clicked for a close up I saw that it's actually labeled as such, and I don't know that I've ever seen one before. Your tomatoes are certainly doing better than mine. I am going on a mad hunt for a tomato growing bag.
Happy WOYWW!!
Amy
Me again....Thanks for the comment and thought I'd better answer your question.....I wanted the right colour brown and the 'M' was left of the block from ages ago so just using it to test out the colour - sorry it's not more interesting!!
ReplyDeletexx
Love the new look blog and I bet those tomatoes will taste delish!
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog background - I designed one for mine and then couldn't get it to work with the HTML business so went back to using a free one from someone else!! Have fun at your sewing day..Happy WOYWW..Esther x

ReplyDeleteFabulous photo thingy, a lovely keepsake! Love the blog background. can't change mine, even when the codes gone, it's still there!!Great tomatoes, they look very green and leafy, are you nipping out the side shoots, you want all that 'greeness' to go into making your tommys red! have a great WOYWW!!
ReplyDelete(Lyn)
Fab mini book.
ReplyDeleteLinbyx
wow welld one on the tomatoes Darcy, mine failed!, it seemed to be like jacks beanstalk, cos I didn't know which bit to snip of to stop it growing taller, now it gone to tomato plant heaven! The bags are amazing well done.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like home grown tomatoes. So yummy yummy yummy. Love the look of the new blog too.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind me leaving you this linky. All the gigs I went to last year and this (bar Alice where I wasn't leaving it to chance and was on that phone the minute the lines opened) I WON from this site. This includes Beyonce (actually that was for DD and OH gallantly escorted her! Hmm!) an intimate Snow Patrol gig, JLS (was other DD's best friend for a month after that!) and a few tickets to the iTunes thing they did but couldn't make the dates so gave them away. I also won tickets to that exclusive Twilight fan party which made my niece a VERY happy bunny to get so up close and personal with Mr Pattinson ;) It's worth a go and because gigs are so centralised to certain areas you stand more chance of winning ;) Just search 'tickets' in the search box. They're always being put up.
You are very welcome. I love going to live shows but am pretty disgusted at some of the prices and could never have afforded to have taken my girls to half the ones I've won. It's worth keep checking back. Won quite a few things off there ;)
ReplyDeletelOve the look of your blog, and I love making mini albums, good luck with the wedding one
ReplyDeleteBlown away with the blog. busy desk! busy gal! Great tommies, will want to see them when they colour up. Wow! we even got to look at Cake! & shown how to make it!! Yummy.

Those albums are just tooo cute. I wish we had enough space to grow tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteRe the rings have you tried B&Q they do silver rings or an iron monger (if there are any left these days).
Your blog looks truly fabulous hun and I love those file do dahs too they are just brill! Oh and if you don't want that cider...pass it over here girl I'll gladly drink it for you hehehe. Great workstation with loads of lovely stuff whoo hoo brill. Take care
ReplyDeleteSam x
What a lot is going on in your post ...and on your desk ...love the book/box. My tomatoes are pathetic ...mind you if I get a few I'll be happy as the plants were a pressy from a neighbour and I already had some compost.xx
ReplyDeleteThe Sansador sounds interesting - where can I get some from? I have 2 of the blender pencils that were madfe for the prismas and also a clear marker blender. I've used the pencil type blenders with the normal coloured pencils and they work well to. But would like to try your method. Good idea to close the bottle first before it gets knocked over - kinda thing I would do lol.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the bags they all look fabulous, great work. Those tomatoes will be delish when ripe. Gorgeous ablbums great idea.
ReplyDeleteOooo...Darcy...I have been so carried away with my Atkins WOE (way of eating) that I have neglected visiting my fave blogs! *Hangs head in shame*. I LOVE the mini book and your newly refurbed blog.
ReplyDeleteLife seems to be flying by so fast I am trying to fit too much in me thinks! Your baking creations tempt me so much but....oh yes....but there is a lovely recipe that I have gotten from the Atkins website - Muffin In A Mug or what is referred to as a MIM. I had my first one this morning - cinnamon and it was delish. I shall post the recipe on my blog soon...just as soon as I pay penance! *Ü* Toots for now, ~Glen~
Lots of lovely things to look at here, sorry about my tardy response, but I've been slightly hors de combat since Wednesday. However now I'm a little more compos mentis I enjoyed my snoop, thanks.
ReplyDeleteChrissie
Hi Darcy thank you for popping back over and explaining how to use the Sansador. I will look out for it when I next visit Smiths - lol if I remember that is - got a memory like a sieve.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply but the pc decided to let a virus into its system.
Love the new look on your blog and the cute bags you're making (for such a good cause!). I have a huge pile of cut up denim - this would be a great use for a few pieces.
ReplyDeleteThat envelope box is so clever - I'll be clicking to see how it's made.
Thanks for popping by and commenting on my finishing things week. I use sticky notes on my laptop too but it can get depressing as the lists get longer and longer. Hope you're able to cross off a few in the week ahead.
Hope you don't mind me saying it, but you have such a terrific look. Love your style.
