20 tote/long handle bags DONE !
now I am making some drawstring bags. I am also making a wedding album for my cousins wedding at the end of August, hence the mess in here, so much so I can't see the desk. So instead of a desk shot here is a peek inside my fibre boxes, these are just some of my fibres, there are other boxes and bags around the house. But these ones live in my craft room, usually up on a shelf.
I am having problems with my laptop keys, 3 have broken and another 3 are sticking, so as it is only a few months old it will have to go back. I have been backing up photos from it onto disc and also onto the external hard drive so I can send it off and not worry about losing stuff. As I have been sorting and backing up I came across a few of my cross stitch photos. For 10 years I ran a weekly club, with 24 members, I got fed up towards the end and got someone else to take over...well actually it took 4 of them to divide up all the jobs I did for 10 years on my own! anyway, I never intended to leave, but I took a bit of break and just never got around to going back lol then I got sick and spent 4 years having operations. That was 5 ish years ago, and I haven't really stitched in all that time. I do have lots of embroidery stash, I wouldn't give it away as I feel in my heart I will get back to it one day.
So here are just some of my finished pieces.
I gave 7 away to friends and to the charity shop a couple of month ago as there are just too many to hang up in my house lol
Have a great week.
I love the new look of your blog. I was wowed the minute I got here. I really want to dive into that fiber, too. There's some yellow in there that is the color of hot sunshine. I don't think I've ever seen such intense yellow fiber before. Happy Wednesday to you.

Oh I know what you mean Darcy - I'm not allowed to do any more cross stitch unless it's a present for somebody else. The trouble with being creative is that you have to find room to display the results!!
ReplyDeleteDarcy you really are amazing-as for glue-I've spent a lifetime sticking things together starting with flour paste in a jar made with hot water (goes mouldy if you leave it) so it is all stored somewhere in my brain, just wish the retrieval system was more efficient. Love BettyXXX

Hi Darcy,
ReplyDeleteMy freakin' emails in response to comments never go, so here is what I said but you didn't see....
The brayer smells like this girl that I went to elementary school with *vague vague number* years ago.
I didn't like her and she really did smell funny - like peanut butter...but not at all, you know? Because I like peanut butter a lot, and she smelled bad. Maybe like dogs and poop and peanut butter? And maybe burning rubber. Maybe her parents had a weird tire factory where they made ecological tires out of dog poop and peanut butter?? I don't know, but my brayer smells like her.
Moving on. Crayon Cakes are freakin' awesome and take waaaaayyyyy to long to explain, but I am going to post a tutorial on them later today and what you can do with them, but I have to do this on the sly because the iron is actually my hon's and I don't want him to see what became of it.
