Postcard Challenge

week 18. New Zealand.

I have been playing along with the 29faces in May....see previous 3 posts...

So this week, along with the other eleventy million projects, I haven't had much time.

So to kill two birds, I decided to make Thursdays face a Maori face, that way i could use it in both the 29 faces challenge and also in my postcard book.

I drew him up and painted him in my sketchbook, not really happy with him, but it got late and I had had enough... I took a photo and printed it out and glued it into my postcard book as the page..

I then painted my card green and stippled  more green and blue onto it to create texture then using a gold pen I copied Elven text in a circle, to symbolise the Lord of the Rings film that was made in New Zealand.

and finally the back of the card. Charlie is fed up and alarmed by the threatening card that arrived, and is taking a break in New Zealand.

HERE IS WHERE YOU LINK UP.. add your name and blog link and then go visiting.

Please only link up if you are taking part in the Postcard Challenge..

  2. Well I think he's amazing. You captured that muscle underneath the skin and didn't make the markings look flat - which is a real skill. Great job girl!

  3. I do think he looks rather spectacular. I'm not sure why you're not happy with him...
I love your card, I didn't know Lord of the Rings was made in New Zealand. Sshhh, never watched the film either. Should I be very ashamed of myself now? ;)

  7. I love your Maori face, I'm also not sure what you don't like about him! He looks so realistic and the eyes are very catching. Fab Lord of the Rings circle, my bro lives in Wellington where they have a number of street names directly from the movie! Quite odd to drive by them! Mx

  21. I've been enjoying your daily faces project. This one turned out fantastic! I totally forgot about Lord of the Rings being filmed there. I have a font for the elven text, I can't imagine writing it out though. Go you!
