sorry, it's all crazytime here in Darcyworld. So much to do. But here is a little something I made a while ago..
I started off with 2 plain white envelopes, I slipped a piece of card inside each one to strengthen them, then I glued them shut. Using various inks I swiped and dropped and dragged, on both side.
Next I stamped some script and then used stencils.
Now to work on the backs. First I knocked back the first layer with a lighter colour of acrylic paint, leaving patches of the base layers showing through.
Some stamping using EDY02
On the front, I first added some stamping, and then some white labels where I wanted the address to go.
Then I knocked back the stamping a little.
Finally I doodled around the labels and then hand drew a large focal image of a butterfly on each envelope front.

Wow these are stunning. Thank you so very much for sharing your layering techniques. I have just started to explore mail art - in fact it is truly hard to for me to send out naked envelopes any more! I had trouble getting the depth that you have achieved - and now I know the secret and the knocking back - is the perfect remedy for what I been stuck on - too bright colours. Perfect you genius lady you
