DLP Week 3

No face today, very busy making samples with my new stamps... did you see the sneaks of them HERE... I will be launching them at the Stevenage show on 9th Feb, if you are there please do pop by the PaperArtsy stand and say hello.

So onto Documented Life Project, I am really enjoying playing in this little journal. For week 3 we were asked to add in an envelope and decorate it. So I contacted Gillian and arranged to meet her on G+. We spent a couple of hours, chatting, laughing, putting the world to right and decorating envelopes. We then posted them to each other.

so this is the envelope that I made for Gillian.

Front. I started with sprays and drips.

next I added Fresco paint through THIS STENCIL

Next I added white out spaces for the postage stamp and the address.

I then whited out the shape of a girl.

I added a transfer of some wings.

Then I filled in her features, dress and hair.

I added stickles to her hair and finally stamped on a quote.

On the back, I started with the same sprays and drips.

I then used Fresco paints through THIS STENCIL To make the fence I used one of THESE STAMPS, making the vertical posts first and then adding on the horizontal bars.

Using more Fresco paints i brushed on  some greens for the grass, a little nougat for the highlights on the wood.  Then I stamped the bird from THIS SET, and the butterflies from THIS SET

Finally I added text from HERE.. (my friend Donna designed those) the circular stamp at the bottom is FROM HERE

So that has been sent to Gillian to put in her journal. This is the envelope that she sent to me.

Front...

Back...isn't it just so scrummy!!!

I painted a background page in my journal, and then wrote about the night where we made envelopes together.

and here is the envelope, taped into its new home.

What did you do for week 3???

  1. Nothing yet but my envelope is on it's way back very soon!

Stunning Mail Art Darcy (and Gillian), you don't do thing by half do you!!! Am getting into Mail Art a lot and enjoying the layering etc. My drawing is non existent and i can't even paint an Aurora (sad face) so mine will have to be a little plainer than yours.

Gorgeous page for Week 3 :-) xxx
