Gelli Printed Card with Weekly Face

At the weekend I needed a last minute birthday card, for a young lady turning 16... so I got out my  gelli plate. I pulled a couple of prints using Fresco paints, stencils, bubble wrap, lids etc. I pulled the prints onto heavyweight smoothy card.

So from the piece that I liked, I was able to cut these two pieces. You will note I left a clear patch inside each piece.

Here is a close up of the texture

I decided to go with this tall piece, it was the right size to make a DL sized card.

I started to draw a dreary girl inside the white patch.

I started to colour her with French Roast, London night, Blush, Sky and Snowflake.

I added in some Orchid and Little black Dress.

Then some Beach Hut and Bora Bora.

The background is done with sequin waste.

Here she is all done..

I stamped happy birthday onto another scrap of gelli printed card, and backed that onto heavy smoothy, then fed them both through a black buckle. I know it looks back to front but it was too much black with the buckle the other way.

Here is the card all put together and glued to a card blank.
