New Stamps. Jigsaw House.

Hi there.. I wanted to create a sample using the mini heart from EM16, this stamp works well with the text from EDY14. .. but how to make them into a house?

I started by die cutting 6 jigsaw pieces, I taped them together with masking tape on the back. This gave me a stable surface so that I could use my brayer over them without them falling apart.

I then removed one jigsaw piece and stamped the heart from EM16, I carefully painted this with Snowflake.

I then coloured it with Beach Hut, Guacamole, Orchid... I also stamped the heart again onto smoothy, and painted the areas around it with Brown Shed. When they are layered up the 2 pieces will form a whole heart.

I reattached the jigsaw with masking tape, and stamped the border from EDY12

I then decided I didn't like the Brown Shed background, so I painted that out with Snowflake and then went over it with Inky Pool.

I then worked on the backing board. I brayered Beach Hut all over, then added some Tinned Peas at the bottom and Inky Pool at the top, and a tiny bit of Snowflake brayered in the centre.  I love how patchy it is, makes the sky look all stormy!

I stamped the grasses from EDY11 onto both sides at the bottom. I left these ones uncoloured.

I coloured in some of the circles from the border stamping, then glued the smoothy heart under the jigsaw heart. I then glued on the final piece of jigsaw, to one side.

I stamped more grasses onto lighter smoothy, coloured them and cut them out. Some are glued over the top of the house.

I stamped the large flower from EDY11 onto smoothy, I coloured the stem with Guacamole and cut it out. Then I painted more smoothy, stencilled it and then stamped the flower head again. I coloured in the spots and cut this out.

I layered these together with foam pads.

Once the flower was glued to the picture I then added more cut out grasses at the bottom.

I painted some smoothy with Autumn Fire and Brown shed and Snowflake. I stamped the border from EDY 14 and cut out a roof shape. I added a little chimney in the same colours, the brickwork on that is just done with the edge of a credit card dipped in black ink.

The text is from EDY14, and mounted onto smoothy painted with Beach hut.

I love how the heart becomes whole but on 2 levels.

Here it is all finished.

That was a fun little house to create, hope you like it. All these stamps are available from your favourite PaperArtsy retailer.

  9. Darcy,
This is very imaginative, I like how you used the leaf/flower as a tree. It really looks different when you put it in this project.
