How have you done this week? I am looking forward to seeing what you have come up with for this week's prompt.
After reading up a little on Turkey I found that the Trojan wars were fought there. So I collaged some images of an old map, some soldiers and the Trojan horse.
I then discovered that when Julius Caesar was at war with the city of Zela ( now known as Zile in Turkey) he is reported to have said..
Veni.Vidi,Vici...I came, I saw, I conquered.
So this is my card, using that phrase, along with the Turkish flag....however I changed it up just a little hahaha
Here is the card on the page...I will attach it with clear photo corners.
and here is the back of my card...how will Charlie find the combination number?

Great work Darcy. Veni, vidi, vici is still in my mind from Latin at school, and visa and spending fit in well with Cissie's weekend in Turkey! Valerie
ReplyDeleteTurkey, what a history this country has and very difficult to pick a theme, so it was food. Your card is very interesting.
ReplyDeletePhew, I made it this week. I missed this weekly travel adventure!
ReplyDeleteI adore the sentiment on your card.... I would say it's priceless but that might be infringing brand copyright!
The trail of body parts sounds very unpleasant. Perhaps a soak in a Turkish bath will take Charlie's mind off the goings on... Maybe a spot of relaxation might help solve the mystery of the combination too...
Great postcard Darcy !! I didn't know it was in Turkey that Caesar said this phrase. A xx
ReplyDeleteSuper page and your altered sentiment on the postcard is brilliant. Thank you for keeping this going it is such fun and a wonderful opportunity to see some great work.
