Abstract Frame..

This is a small abstract frame I made one night, using just stamps from the Ellen Vargo Collection I started with this small wooden frame from PaperArtsy.

I painted it with a blend of the new limited edition paints from Lin Brown.

Next I used the scratchy circle stamp from EEV02  around the front edge, then used the background stamp from  EEV03 over the top. I also added a little Snowflake paint to the inside.

I painted some crunchy wax paper with Snowflake, then stamped the Barcode stamp from EEV03.. I crumpled the paper and then tore it into strips and glued them to the insides of the frame.

Then I painted s different sized wooden spools with the same paints.

I wrapped them in yarns

I painted some heavy smoothy card with Chartreuse, then I stamped the barcode 3 times and the circle 3 times. I scored the barcodes and created steps. I cut the circles out and glued them to the top of the spools.

I glued the steps and the spools inside the frame.

Here you can see the 2 steps joined by a walkway..

The inside looked bare. so I painted some tissue paper and used the scratchy circle and the scratchy leaf to make a sunburst.

I cut that out and glued it inside the frame.

I painted a little more smoothy card with the same colours, and stamped these words with a mini alphabet set. I mounted each word onto black card.

Then I attached each word to a step.

I finished the frame with a little Treasure Gold around the outer edges.

I like how the steps stick out..

  1. Fab Darcy, made me smile. Also thought at first that you had used a proper barcode from the packet. Love how it all fits together. The threads on the spools are so cute. X
